Did you know that there’s more than one kind of HVAC appointment? Different appointments require different tools and equipment, and different amounts of time. Knowing what kind of appointment you need will help ensure that when we schedule your visit, we’re using your most precious resources – time and money – most efficiently.
What are the different types of appointments?
We have three main appointment types – system maintenance, service call, and estimates.
What is a system maintenance?
A system maintenance is a preventative appointment on an operational system that involves cleaning your HVAC equipment and ensuring your system is running at maximum efficiency. We recommend having two maintenance appointments per year – one for your heater, and one for your air conditioner. What is a service call?
The focus of this appointment is to diagnose and repair a system. If you are calling because your system has stopped working, or doesn’t seem to be working correctly, this is the appointment for you. The first step of this appointment is to diagnose the issue. Even if you’ve had another company come out and tell you what the problem is, we like to do our own check. Our techs are highly trained and it’s not uncommon for us to find the issue has been misdiagnosed.
Our goal is always to get the system operational on this visit, and we carry as many parts as possible to make this happen. Unfortunately, we can’t predict every problem and carry every part, so sometimes we need to order a part and schedule a return appointment.
It’s important to know that every system is repairable. If you had a company come out and tell you that it’s not fixable, and your only choice is to replace your system, give us a call! We send technicians, not salesmen. We will take a look at your system and work with you to find the solution that’s best for you.
What is an estimate?
Estimate appointments are for customers who have decided they need new equipment. They’ve already decided that they want to upgrade or that what they currently have is not worth repairing. They call us to get a quote on replacing their system. If this sounds like you, visit our install page to find out what makes the Buck’s Heating and Air installation process so unique.
